Members of the Council 4 Delegate Assembly voted overwhelmingly in favor of a recommendation from our PEOPLE political action committee to formally endorse Ned Lamont in the 2018 gubernatorial election.
Delegates to our special June 12 meeting also accepted recommendations to endorse William Tong for Attorney General, Shawn Wooden for Treasurer, Jahana Hayes for Congress in the 5th District and several candidates for State Senate and State Representative.

These initial endorsements follow two consecutive legislative sessions dominated by proposals to eliminate union members' rights and a toxic state budget package authored by corporate conservatives in the legislature that included further attacks on collective bargaining and cuts to state and local services.

Our legislative and political action program is geared toward defending our pay, benefits and voice on the job -- all of which are under attack by the same ultra-wealthy and corporate special interests that bankrolled the Janus v. AFSCME case.
Protecting our collective bargaining rights requires us to "Remember in November." It's critically important that we support candidates like Ned Lamont who will support our rights and freedoms -- and that we defeat anti-worker candidates.
